Manon Melanson was awarded a master’s degree in psychology by the Université de Moncton in 2001 and she became a licensed psychologist in December 2006. Her career began in the school system where she developed an interest in prevention and in working with students experiencing learning difficulties and behavioral problems. She then worked for a year with Community Based Services for Children with Special Needs.

In 2002, Manon returned to the school system, working in several of the province’s francophone school districts for six years. In cooperation with the parents and professionals in the school setting, she completed diagnostic assessments and developed individualized treatment plans for elementary and high school students. In 2006-2007, she was the acting psychologist on the strategic team in School District 1. Manon also acted as an educational consultant with the province’s Youth Treatment Program (YTP), completing psycho-educational assessments with adolescents admitted at the Pierre Caissie Centre in Moncton (2007-2010). In April 2007, Manon joined the Clinic of Applied Psychology to pursue her work with children and adolescents in private practice. Since 2008, she is co-owner of the Clinic of Applied Psychology.

Manon continues to be passionate about her work with children and she offers a variety of assessment and treatment services for children and their parents. She also provides consultation and treatment services to adults. Her clinical interests include learning disabilities, giftedness, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, parenting, adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, relationship problems and grief. Since 2012, Manon is also part of a group of professionals that offer consultation services to members of the Centre de ressources et transitions pour danseurs (Québec) and she has developed an interest in yoga as a therapeutic tool for the treatment of anxiety, depression and trauma related disorders.
