Jessica McNair was awarded her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from l’Université de Moncton in October 2017. She is a licensed psychologist since May 2020.

As part of her doctoral studies, Jessica has had the opportunity to gain experience in diverse environments. Among other practicums, she completed an advanced clinical placement as well as her internship at the District scolaire francophone Sud, where she offered evaluation and intervention services to the student population. During this period, she developed experience with the evaluation and treatment of many presenting issues, including learning disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, conduct disorders as well as many other neurodeveloppemental disorders. As part of her internship, Jessica has also had the opportunity to help parents in the learning of various parenting skills in addition to co-facilitating a therapeutic group addressing social skills in children.

Jessica has joined the Clinic of Applied Psychology’s team in October 2017 offering a variety of assessment and treatment services for children and their parents. She also provides consultation and treatment services to adults for certain presenting issues. The well-being of the client in session is extremely important to Jessica, which is why she favors a client-centered approach. Therefore, it is Jessica’s goal to work in collaboration with her clients while considering a combination of psychotherapeutic approaches that best suit their needs. That being said, Jessica favors Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
