When you consult a psychologist working in private practice, you have to pay fees since they are not covered by New Brunswick’s health insurance plan.
A psychologist’s consultation fees are often covered by personal and group insurance programs. Find out from your insurance company whether these fees can be partly or fully reimbursed. If you can’t be reimbursed for psychologist’s fees, they are an accepted deduction as medical expenses on your income tax return.
